A <span>2024 blaze in Jasper<\/span>, Alberta, destroyed about 350 homes, while the 2023 McDougall Creek wildfire, also in British Columbia\u2019s Okanagan region, destroyed about 200 homes.<\/p>\n<p>Canada has endured increasingly destructive wildfire seasons in recent years, with <span>smoke from the blazes<\/span> repeatedly <span>spreading across North America<\/span> and triggering widespread air-quality alerts.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Wilson called the devastation \u201csurreal\u201d and said it was one of the darkest days in the band\u2019s history. But the wind wasn\u2019t nothing like compared to this one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>About 8,000 people have been evacuated across British Columbia, Emergency Management Minister Kelly Greene said. There were 37 evacuation orders Tuesday, with conditions changing hourly.<\/p>\n<p>The BC Wildfire Service said about 120 wildfires were burning across the province, roughly 50 of them out of control.
